The short history of a Labrador Retriever

The British came across the St Johns Water Dog in Labrador Canada in 1867, retrieving fishing nets and returning them to the owners boats. They took these dogs back to England and introduced other breeds that went on to develop the world’s premier water fowl and upland hunting dog.

Labradors have gone on to become one of the world’s most favourite breeds, used extensively in drug and explosive detection work, and have become the world’s most sought after seeing-eye dog. They are also used extensively for emotional support as they have very good natures and are affectionate, sociable and easy to care for.

Trueclass believes a combination of show and sporting lines produces the most suitable combination as pets. The combining of the show and sporting lines results in a complementary balance of looks and temperament. Blending the best traits of Show lines and Sporting lines, Trueclass has found these breeding lines to be very popular with clients.

From time to time, Trueclass will also breed pure sporting lines, usually from USA field trial purebred pedigrees and are suitable for those families who love the outdoors and are very active. Sporting lines are faster and are more retrieving focused. They have a quick mind as well as a quick body, more athletic, more water orientated and very trainable with a high retrieving drive, whist still making amazing outdoor dogs. They also love to relax and enjoy a slower pace and make fantastic indoor pets too.
